Sunrise Management has been managing active seniors housing throughout Southern California and Arizona since 1977. We currently, manage 12 seniors properties serving affordable and luxury markets, totaling more than 2,600 units.
The management of seniors housing is an increasingly specialized field within our profession. There is a growing range of senior community development models providing various levels and combinations of congregate care and independent living services to seniors and the management of each disparate property types requires emphasis on unique management strategies and capabilities. Sunrise Management specializes in the active independent senior market and we have developed successful management and marketing strategies and innovative recreation and activity programs to serve this particular, growing market.
Over the 29 years that Sunrise has managed this property type we have developed a deep understanding of the changing needs of active independent seniors. Our specialized programs have evolved from this understanding and appreciation. We have established relationships with an extensive network of local and regional senior service agencies who provide us with an excellent network of referrals to our communities, as well as determining when and assisting us at the time residents are no longer able to care for themselves in this type of facility and need more complete care. Many of these agencies cost effectively support or provide many of the health screening, social service and educational programs that we offer to our residents.
 Sunrise currently employs an experienced Activities Director who holds a B.A. degree in sociology and is currently completing her Masters degree in gerontology. She is a valuable resource to the site staff for our seniors properties, supporting programs, social services and counseling throughout our portfolio. Many of her extensive network of contacts are directly transferable to new properties. This allows us to provide consistent, high quality service to the residents we serve, outstanding training to our on-site staff and represents a tremendous resource to our seniors management team.
While an activities program is important, it is but one distinction between serving seniors and non-seniors. One of the keys to a successful seniors management program lies in the hiring and training of the site staff. The key strengths and competencies among our seniors site management teams differ from those we seek and develop for non-seniors properties. Our seniors staff provides a caring and secure environment, responding to seniors particular needs and concerns, thereby fostering a strong sense of community.
Sunrise Management has management, administration, marketing, maintenance and activities programs up and running that transfer readily and cost effectively to virtually any independent seniors property. More importantly, we have a core of specialized staff members and services in place to implement this transfer, both expeditiously and effectively. |
